I will leave Friday night on a three week vacation to Europe! For those of you who are curious, I’ll be visiting: The Netherlands, Belgium, Switzerland, France, U.K., and Ireland. Whether I’ll have internet access, even for a short while, I don’t know. So to be on the safe side, I’ll just say that I won’t approve any news comments or answer any e-mails in the coming weeks.
Bye and I hope you guys have a wonderful summer!
EDIT: I saw Wanted and it was AWESOME! A lot of the actions scene were so ridiculous, it was obvious that they could never be done in real life, but they were still so cool. I don’t want to spoil the movie but all I’ll say is this:
Best. Suicide. Ever.

O.K. since I was bored, I decided to list some decent fanfiction. Doesn’t it suck that there’s so much crappy romance fanfiction in just about every fandom out there? There’s only a few good romance stories to.
- Who is Tony Stark? - What does the person on the street think of Iron Man and Tony Stark?
- The Punisher: Hunters and Killers - The Punisher is trying to stop a city wide gang war in New York. And a very determined cop is on his trail. NOW COMPLETE.
- We Are Foolish - A 66 year old Nancy Callahan reflects on her life and her love for Hartigan. Vignette, NancyxHartigan.
- Just Another Saturday Night - An established Sin City Yarn from another POV; He’s really a good man, Marv. Loves his mother and takes care of his friends, so we don’t mind if he calls the shots around here once in a while.
- In Over My Head: A Buffy/Hellblazer Crossover - Constantine goes to Sunnydale to get some help from an old friend… Rating for violence, swearing and slightly slashy overtones. Final chapter now up!
- Revenge of the Queen - Hellblazer/BtVS/FR crossover. John Constantine runs into the Scooby Gang, becoming Willow’s mentor for magic. Willow accidentally casts a spell that induces someone’s love. Buffy decides to prove she doesn’t have a one-track attitude to Spike. S/B.
- Hellblazer:Hogwarts - Sometimes, life bashes you upside the head with a brick in a sock. Hogwarts is about to get its latest Defense Against the Dark Arts teacher, a man cast adrift from his native world- a man named John Constantine.
- And Hell Came With Him - John Constantine: demon hunter, wise guy, smoke a’holic, and the new Defense Against the Dark Arts teacher. There’s a hellblazer at Hogwarts.
- Second Best - A X-Men oneshot; Emma Frost does some digging around Scott’s psyche and finds some unexpected things.
- Back to Life - What happens to Lara after the events of Last Revelation. This was originally written as an entry to last year’s village of Tokakeriby Story Competition. A new competition for 2002 has been announced at http://www.shef.ac.uk/britfanfic/secondsub.htm
- Anything You Need - Winston considers his devotion to Lady Croft, and thinks on her future. Gameverse and mentions Legend.
- Cold Tea - Post Legend, mention of AoD. Everyone has painful memories, and sometimes we lock them away. Once in a while though, we go back…
- Katie’s Tomb Raider Fanfiction - Award winning fanfiction created by a Tomb Raider fan.
- Raider Rivalry: Indiana Jones vs. Lara Croft - The Raider of the Lost Ark meets the Tomb Raider . . . and sparks fly! I decided to move this back here for those of you who haven’t had the pleasure of reading it. Enjoy, r/r!
The list seems large, but when you stop and categorize them into their proper fandoms, there’s actually very few stories that I liked, haha. I’m also aware that some of the summaries make the stories sound dumb, and some of these stories I read after I gave up searching for good stories; I ended up being surprised how good they were!
Someone stated in a review on the “Anything You Need” story “you know you have read a good fanfiction when the line between gaming reality and fandom is blurred and you can no longer seperate the two”. I feel that this is true for most of the stories above, obviously the crossover stories are excluded.
I hope that if any one of you guys decides to read some of these stories, that you’re very entertained by them and that you like them!
P.S. New layoout, I haven’t change Coppermine’s layout to this one; I’ll do that tomorrow. Awesome banner made by Lucy.

This post has spoilers, it’s not my fault if you get spoiled! I warned you!
So I went to watch Indiana Jones And The Kingdom Of The Crystal Skulls on Friday. All I’ve got to say is that it was good but it’s definitely no classic, I think that everyone knew this when Indy 4 was first announced.
Aliens. I knew going in that the movie would have aliens because someone accidentally spoiled it for me before I got to watch it. Who’s idea was it to put aliens in the freaken movie!? In my opinion, they didn’t pull it off very well. I do understand that this Indy movie is set in the ’50s so it’s making fun of ’50s things just as the old ones did for movies from the ’30s. Plus, one of the theories about the crystal skulls are that aliens did give us the skulls, but obviously this was debunked when people found out all the skulls, but one, were fakes.
A lot of people have been saying “Well, why is it harder to believe there are ALIENS in the movie, but not God(s)!?” It’s not the fact that there can be demons and not aliens in the movie, but both the supernatural and extraterrestrial belong in their own genre’s. From the first movie, it was quite obvious the the Indiana Jones movies belonged in the supernatural category. I mean, when was the last time you saw a movie have both Sci Fi in it and supernatural beings? When was the last time you saw an alien pray to God? When was the last time you saw something like that in a movie and it did not flop? I’m not saying the two genres can’t be used together (Ultraviolet and X-Files, anyone?), it’s just that the Indiana Jones movies stayed strictly away from anything science fiction until the fourth movie! It just seems so out of place.
With that being said, I have read quite a few stories where the supernatural and science fiction have been used together. The Tomb Raider 3 game showed aliens when she broke into Area 51! In the current Wonder Woman series, the first story arc dealt with Greek mythology and the birth of Diana on her home island. The story arc immediately following it dealt with aliens and both story lines were very good!
Other than the aliens thing, I’m a little disappointed that Marion didn’t punch Indiana like she did in the first film! He got her pregnant and left her a week before the wedding and she doesn’t punch him!?!? WTF? She didn’t even punch any bad guys, even so, I still loved seeing her again.
I’m also disappointed that Mutt ended up being Indy’s son! God, that was so predictable, I was hoping that he wouldn’t be his son, that somehow cheapened the movie for me. I do think that everyone was awesome in the movie though! The acting was great!
Other than those flaws, I still like the movie very much! I just hope that the rumors that there will be a fifth movie aren’t true. Another Indiana Jones movie is very un-needed. I also herd Shia could be the lead character.
Uh, no.
Indiana Jones is not like James Bond, where you can just replace the lead actor (and in this case, the character too) with someone else! I definitely won’t watch it in theaters if it does happen. Plus, I know a lot of fans will be pissed. It’ll also be a slap on the face to Harrison Ford.
Anyways, even though I do like the new Indiana Jones movie, I see the movie as an alternate “what if” movie more than an official continuation. Even though it is, I’ll just see it as non-canonical.
